FoxNews interviews Capt. Pete Hegseth

Capt. Pete Hegseth, American Experiment’s newest Senior Fellow, is an instructor at the Counterinsurgency (COIN) Training Center in Kabul, Afghanistan. Last week, he sat down for an interview with FoxNews. He begins with a brief explanation of what counterinsurgency means. As he explains, “Counterinsurgency is a complex form of warfare. It’s population centric. And what you’re attempting to do is not just defeat the enemy but also defeat the symptoms that allow the enemy to exist.” He goes on to deliver a terrific overview of the vital work taking place at the COIN Training Center in preparing Afghan forces to take the lead in protecting the population against insurgents.
