American Experiment is proud to announce that John Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, will keynote the Center's 2008 Annual Dinner, on Thursday, May 15, at the St. Paul RiverCentre.

As a statesman who has been steadfast in guarding our safety at home and abroad, Ambassador Bolton fits perfectly with our tradition of hosting first-rank national and international leaders. During his all-too short tenure at the United Nations, he was an outspoken advocate for vital American interests, while striving to reform the U.N. and halt the spread of terrorism and civil strife around the globe. For his courageous service, the Senate somehow saw fit to reward him with a filibuster, successfully preventing his confirmation. That was not a good day for freedom.

In his keynote next spring, Ambassador Bolton will draw on his extensive diplomatic and other experiences in the Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II administrations. He will discuss 21st Century threats to the United States and how we can - how we must - lead in strengthening security arrangements around the world. He also will focus on what American business leaders must do to compete successfully in often precarious and ever-more demanding global markets.
