Yes, the 2008 presidential race has been going on for years already – literally. Yet by tradition, the contest won’t truly get under way until the candidates deliver their acceptance speeches and Jerry Lewis stays up all night Labor Day weekend. Interestingly, all of these events take place within a few days of each other this election cycle, with one of the national conventions to be held in St. Paul.
To mark this geographic if less-than-harmonic convergence, please join us for a special American Experiment Breakfast Forum at which wonderful wordsmiths discuss what they – in their best first- and second-guessing – would urge Senators McCain and Obama to say and/or have said.
David Frum, author of Comeback: Conservatism That Can Win Again, served as speechwriter and special assistant to President George W. Bush. John Hinderaker, a Minneapolis lawyer, is one of the three founders and authors of “Power Line,” Time magazine’s inaugural “Blog of the Year.”
