Task Force MembersChris Georgacas, task force co-chairman, is president and CEO of Goff and Howard, Inc. He served as state chairman of the Republican Party of Minnesota from 1993-1997. Previously, he was a senior aide to the Minnesota House minority leader and a Minnesota Senate staffer. Roger Moe, task force co-chairman, is president of his own consulting company, National Strategies, Inc. He served in the Minnesota Senate from 1971-2002, twenty-two years of which he spent as majority leader. Jack Coffman covered politics and public affairs for nearly forty years, writing for the Topeka Capitol-Journal, Des Moines Register, Minneapolis Star Tribune, and finally for the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He retired in 1999 and since then has been a freelance writer specializing in public affairs and public relations. Steve Dornfeld worked as a reporter, editor, and editorial writer for the St. Paul Pioneer Press for twenty-seven years and the Minneapolis Tribune for ten years, focusing primarily on government and public policy. He is a past president of the national Society of Professional Journalists and the Minnesota News Council. Bill Kelly was vice president for government relations for Wells Fargo & Company from 1983 to July 2005. While serving as a Minnesota state representatives from 1971 to 1978, Kelly chaired the House Committee on Taxes from 1975 through 1978. Andy Kozak is a lobbyist for North State Advisors. He served as an aide to Lieutenant Governor Rudy Perpich and to governor and United States Senator Wendell Anderson. Mary Krinkie is vice president for government relations for the Minnesota Hospital Association. She has worked as a lobbyist since 1991 and is a former employee of the Senate Republican Caucus. Dee Long is director of the Environmental Tax and Incentives Program for Minnesotans for an Energy Efficient Economy. She served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1979 to 1999. She was the first woman elected speaker of the House, and also chaired the House Tax Committee. She is a former board chairman of the Citizens League. Bernie Omann is a lobbyist for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU). He was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1986 and served until 1992. Omann was assistant agriculture commissioner and Chief of Staff to Governor Arne Carlson. Bill Schreiber is a lobbyist for Messerli and Kramer. He is a former House minority leader, chairman of the House Tax Committee, and director of Intergovernmental Relations with the Department of Transportation. Peter Thrane is a shareholder of Leonard, Street and Deinard and a member of the firm’s government relations practice. He is a former House Committee Administrator for Representative Steve Sviggum. Jim Ulland is president of Ulland Investment Advisors in Minneapolis. He is a former state Senate minority leader, and commissioner of commerce under Governor Arne Carlson. Deanna Wiener is broker/owner of Cardinal Realty in Saint Paul. She is a former state senator and chair of the Senate Higher Education Budget Division. |
