Doing Quite Well in the Trades

How well might a young person do if he or she doesn’t seek a four-year degree, but rather pursues a career in the trades?  According to one recent summary, the following are average wages earned by selected tradespeople in the Twin Cities, working realistic hours, in 2018:

  • Licensed HVAC installer $76,000
  • Licensed HVAC service technician $80,000
  • Licensed electrician $105,000
  • Licensed plumber $113,000

How well might a young, or not-so-young person do in the trades?  Quite.
