The Diversity Delusion with Heather Mac Donald at Center Lunch Forum

Last week, Heather Mac Donald returned to Minneapolis for another sell-out Center of the American Experiment lunch forum. Her first visit to the Twin Cities occurred in 2017 to discuss her bestselling book, The War on Cops. This time, Mac Donald talked about her latest book, The Diversity Delusion: How Race and Gender Pandering Corrupt the University and Undermine Our Culture.

Her keynote address focused on how America’s fixation with racism has weakened real instances of racial prejudice. Mac Donald holds that this problem was created by a corrupt university culture that has taught the “diversity delusion” which she defines as having three components:

1.) The most important thing about an individual is one’s sex and race.

2.) Discrimination based on those characteristics is the core feature of Western culture.

3.) Any lack of proportional representation for people of color or women in academia or the workplace is a direct result of discrimination. Career preferences, skills gaps, and cultural differences do not account for race and gender disparities

The “diversity delusion,” Mac Donald believes, is taking over our culture and causing controversies like those involving Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the Covington High School students, and Jussie Smollett.

You can listen to her whole presentation below. If you missed Heather’s discussion of this important topic, don’t miss our Annual Dinner which features America’s leading challenger of the “diversity delusion,” Candace Owens. Tickets and more information can be found here.
