Great Jobs virtual forum on motivating a multigenerational workforce

The Center’s Great Jobs Without a Four-Year Degree project is hosting two 90-minute sessions on October 13 and October 14 from 9:00am-10:30am CST that will focus on strategies to enhance employers’ ability to attract, develop, and retain young skilled workers in trades and manufacturing.

From Traditionalists to Baby Boomers and Generation Xers to Millennials, generational clash points in the workplace can happen. Phil Gwoke, a generation expert with BridgeWorks, will share how employers can motivate a multigenerational workforce and understand generational change management.

Deb Broberg with RealTime Talent will present data on the current labor market. Workforce challenges existed pre-COVID, what do they look like now? What is needed to navigate economic recovery? What areas in Minnesota are more economically vulnerable?

Chuck Webster with the Trades Ambassador program—an initiative focused on leading the next generation to trades and manufacturing careers—will present a detailed look at the Trades Hub, which is the key resource behind the Ambassador program.

Representatives from Red Wing Shoe Company and Hennepin Technical College’s Scholarship Internship Program will discuss model “earn-and-learn” programs for young people entering the trades and manufacturing.

Click here to reserve your spot today, and we will see you virtually tomorrow!
