We hear that the first meeting of the House Corrections Subcommittee got off to a slow start.
It seems Subcommittee Chair Rep. Jack Considine (DFL-Mankato) forgot to set his alarm for the big day, causing him to miss the 8 a.m. gavel time. The first order of business? A lukewarm apology from the chagrined chair. “ As I mentioned up here I haven’t slept past 6:30 in two years. This morning I woke up it was 7:38. I can’t believe it. God has a sense of humor.” Hopefully so do the other subcommittee members who were standing by until Considine hustled in 15 minutes or so late.
