FAQs: Thinking Minnesota Sustaining Membership

I donated within the last year. Will I keep receiving Thinking Minnesota or do I need to make another donation?
As long as your donation totaled $35 or more, you will keep receiving the magazine until it has been 1 year since your last donation!
Do donations made through a donor-advised fund, stock transfer, IRA distribution, or another way count as memberships?
Yes! All donations count toward your membership. You do not need to go through any one form or use a specific envelope.
Do ticket purchases to events count toward my membership?
No, with the exception of our Annual Dinner and Fall Briefing. Both of those events are priced to include a donation to American Experiment, and that will count toward your membership.
All other events are priced at the cost of the event and do not include a donation, and so do not count toward membership. (Note: Magazines will still be available to take from events, and attendees are welcome to donate on-site to obtain membership.)
How will I know when my membership is expiring?
Starting with the Fall 2025 issue, readers whose membership is expiring will see a notice posted on the back of their magazine next to their name and address prompting them to renew. You can also call us at (612) 338-3605 to check your subscription status.
There is a problem with my address/name/subscription. How do I fix it?
You can email [email protected] with any updates to your subscription and where you would like it sent.
What’s included with membership?
A basic sustaining membership ($35+) includes invitations to American Experiment events and a subscription to Thinking Minnesota magazine. You can see our other membership levels here.
I have a question that isn’t listed here.
