Celebrating National School Choice Week

National School Choice Week 2020 is officially underway! Center of the American Experiment is proud to join hundreds of schools, organizations, students and school leaders in celebrating all Minnesota students.

National School Choice Week (NSCW) is a nonpartisan, nonpolitical annual celebration of effective K-12 education options available to children and families across the country—from traditional public schools, public charter schools, and public magnet schools to private schools, religious schools, online schools, and homeschooling options. It is an opportunity to shine a positive spotlight on all forms of school choice and parent empowerment.

National School Choice Week will be held through February 1, and in Minnesota alone there are 686 registered events scheduled to celebrate educational freedom.

Opportunity for All Kids—an organization dedicated to ensuring that all children in Minnesota have access to an education that will help them thrive—kicked off the celebrations this morning at the Minnesota Children’s Museum in St. Paul, where hundreds of students, families and educators rallied for Minnesota K-12 education options and cheered on the power of school choice. The Children’s Museum was only open for the event, giving kids (and adults!) time to explore the learning exhibits.

Over 50,000 events will be hosted around the country this week in celebration of school choice. Join us in recognizing the commitment of students, parents, teachers, and school leaders to providing quality, effective education in different educational settings.
