American Experiment launches “Think about it” Advertising Campaign

“Think about it” statewide radio and digital ads will challenge Walz budget, COVID decisions

Center of the American Experiment this week launched a statewide radio and digital ad campaign titled “Think about it” that will run for the next three months. The campaign will encourage Minnesotans to “think about” the enormous growth in the state budget, how higher tax rates will not help and why students aren’t fully back in the classroom. Future ads in the campaign will feature the proposed California clean car rules and Minnesota’s embarrassing achievement gap.

“This campaign is a long-term effort to educate Minnesotans on important issues like the size of our state budget and the persistent achievement gap in schools,” said John Hinderaker, President of Center of the American Experiment. “The goal is to get Minnesotans to ‘think about’ these issues, read more about them on our website, and eventually influence public policy through the legislative process.”

The first two ads in the “Think about it” series deal directly with the budget process, pointing out the state budget has almost doubled in ten years, spends more per capita than any time in history and will grow even more if Gov. Walz’s tax plan is adopted. The third ad questions why Gov. Tim Walz is listening to the teachers’ union instead of the CDC on opening all schools.

The radio ad buy for the next three months is substantial and covers the entire state. Digital ads produced for social media will complement the radio buy.

State Spending

Think about it

In just 10 years, the Minnesota state budget grew from 14 billion dollars to 26 billion dollars. That’s almost double! Did your income double in the last 10 years?

And now Gov. Tim Walz wants to raise taxes AGAIN so government can grow even more – instead of eliminating wasteful spending.

Think about it – It’s time to stop the wasteful spending.

Walz Tax Increases

Think about it

With state government spending at an all-time high, Gov. Tim Walz is asking for even higher taxes to fund his record-setting new budget.

Think about it – Tim Walz wants more of your money to spend on welfare programs even though Minnesota already ranks third highest in the nation in welfare spending.

We don’t need higher taxes to fund more wasteful spending.

Kids back in school

Think about it

The World Health Organization and CDC both say schools can safely re-open even if teachers aren’t vaccinated.

So why are Minnesota schools still closed? Because the teachers’ union insists they stay shut down.

Think about it – Governor Walz is listening to the teachers’ union instead of the CDC on opening schools. Follow the science? I don’t think so.
