New podcast drops featuring Walter Hudson and James Dickey
Episode 54 of the American Experiment podcast is out, and it is a banger (to quote the boys from Ruthless). We have two conservative all-stars on the same show in Rep. Walter Hudson and attorney James Dickey.
In the first segment, Rep. Hudson gives us an update on the two House races that are in turmoil. In District 54A, they are waiting for a judge in Scott County to rule on the election contest lawsuit filed there. This is the seat that was decided in the Democrat’s favor by just 14 votes until it was discovered the county destroyed 20 ballots. Walter tells us the House will ultimately determine if Democrat Brad Tabke is seated based on the facts laid out in the judges order, which is promised to arrive before January 14, 2025. He also talks about the Democrats’ attempt to drive the narrative of a Republican “power grab” when the House convenes next week. Rep. Melissa Hortman announced the DFL caucus will not show up to work next week and compared it to striking union workers. Truly bizarre!
In the second segment, John Hinderaker sits down with James Dickey of Upper Midwest Law Center (UMLC) to discuss their petition with the Supreme Court to quash Gov. Walz’s “impetuous” writ of special election in District 40B. This is the district where the DFL couldn’t be bothered to nominate a candidate who actually lives in the district. James tells us the Supreme Court will hear arguments on January 15, 2025, the day after the session begins. Dickey and his colleagues will argue Gov. Walz can’t call a special election until a vacancy exists in the seat, which won’t happen until January 14, 2025.
