Famous Feeding Our Future video takes on new meaning
I’m sure you’ve seen that famous June 2021 video of Feeding Our Future CEO Aimee Bock being serenaded with singing and dancing while being presented with an award.
The occasion of the community celebration was the stunning victory of the free-food nonprofit Feeding Our Future over the state Dept. of Education in a lawsuit where the Department was represented by the state Attorney General.
Unless noted otherwise, no one mentioned below has been accused of any wrongdoing in the case.
The full 56-minute video can be seen below, the song and dance segment begins at 49:38.
The entire hour-long video takes on new significance in the wake of the 2025 Aimee Bock courtroom trial for fraud and the emergence from that trial of a December 11, 2021, hour-long audio recording featuring the Attorney General, Keith Ellison, and a group of individuals associated with Feeding Our Future.
The master of ceremonies for the celebration above, heard at 0:01 and throughout the video, is Khalid Omar. Khalid serves as a board member for the Dar Al-Farooq mosque in Bloomington, according to that organization’s most recent (2023) IRS Form 990 tax return.
On December 20, 2021, Khalid donated the maximum $2,500 to the political campaign of Keith Ellison, following the December 11, 2021, meeting with Ellison and Feeding Our Future.
To be clear, Ellison himself does not appear, nor is he mentioned, in the video posted above.
The first speaker (1:35) in the June 2021 celebration is local businessman Mahad Hassan. He also donated the maximum $2,500 to Ellison on December 20, 2021.
Minneapolis city council member Jamal Osman (Ward 6) begins speaking at 11:40.

Osman founded the nonprofit Stigma-Free International, which he transferred to a group later convicted in the Feeding Our Future case.
Aimee Bock herself (Defendant No. 1 and conviction No. 43) appears beginning at 18:30.

At 28:14 another speaker mentions the company Comfort Services, which was controlled by Gandi Mohamed, Defendant No. 69.
Speaking at 32:28 is Hanna Marekegn, Defendant No. 47 and conviction No. 3.
State Sen. Omar Fateh (D-Minneapolis) begins speaking at 34:02.

At 34:19, Sen. Fateh mentions for the first time the name Ikram Mohamed, Defendant No. 63 in the case. Ikram, along with her husband (Defendant No. 67), were both donors to Sen. Fateh’s re-election campaign. Ikram and Gandi are siblings.
In 2025, Sen. Fateh is running for mayor of Minneapolis. Osman has endorsed Fateh’s mayoral bid.
At 38:15, a staffer speaking on behalf of Minneapolis Congresswoman Ilhan Omar can be heard.
The man who speaks at 44:48 is an Imam associated with Dar Al-Farooq.
