Angie Craig donor pleads guilty in FTX case

Nishad Singh, Director Engineering for failed cryptocurrency firm FTX, pled guilty in New York today to criminal charges arising out of the firm’s collapse late last year. The counts included six charges of fraud and conspiracy.

Like his former business colleague, Sam Bankman-Fried, Singh donated millions of dollars to Democratic candidates and causes in recent years. Over the past three years, Singh made 43 donations to leftist candidates and groups, totaling more than $14 million.

According to Federal Election Commission records, among Singh’s dozens of donations was one to local congresswoman Angie Craig (D-2nd District). She received $2,900 from Singh on September 23rd last year.

Craig also received the same amount from Bankman-Fried last year.

Singh is one of three FTX executives to plead guilty in the case, so far. Bankman-Fried has pleaded not guilty to the 12 charges lodged against him, including charges related to illegal campaign contributions.
