Cold weather, a thankful mother’s heart

Merry Christmas! As you’re hopefully inside warm somewhere for the holiday, or maybe warm-ish outside (Florida, anyone?) I wanted to share my rendition of “All I Want For Christmas.”

All I Want For Christmas is a Thankful Heart

  • Thankful my family made it through the baby formula shortage (my son is now eating solids, although formula availability is still an issue nationwide)
  • Thankful my family is making it through the female hygiene shortage
  • Thankful my family is making it through the children’s cold & flu medicine shortage
  • Thankful my family is making it through the antibiotic shortage (such as, finding amoxicillin for my son’s ear infection)

These are real challenges facing American families that aren’t being talked about nearly enough. As a wealthy, industrialized nation in the 21st century, one has to wonder why these issues are hitting nationwide. It says a lot about our nation’s priorities, especially given that it seems to take public pressure for relief to be provided.

Through it all, this mother’s heart is thankful. Thankful that I live in the greatest country on earth. Thankful that I have been blessed with the privilege of being my son’s mother.

Blessings to you and your loved ones as you reflect on all you have to be thankful for this holiday season.
