Good thing American Experiment stopped Gov. Walz’s 20 cent gas tax increase!
Minnesotans are experiencing the most pain at the gas pump since the Obama administration, and the hurting would be worse if Center of the American Experiment had not pulled out all the stops to kill the 20 cents per gallon gas tax increase that Gov. Tim Walz had proposed in 2019.
Not only did our organization author several articles about how this policy would harm rural Minnesotans and low-income families, but we also put up six billboards encouraging motorists to say “NO!” to the 70 percent increase in the state’s tax gas tax.
Our billboard campaign was incredibly effective, but the Minneapolis Star Tribune editorial board scolded us for telling Minnesota lawmakers to hold the line on this massive increase in the cost of driving.
