High electric vehicle battery demand is causing a nickel supply crunch: McKinsey & Company’s Hoffman

Ken Hoffman, global co-leader of EV Battery Materials Group at McKinsey & Company, discusses the metals needed to meet EV battery demand. Hoffman says that there is a supply crunch coming for nickel as EV battery demand grows amid the green transition.

He says that there will be a lot of facilities built to supply this high demand, but they will take time to get up and running, requiring some compromises.
