Traffic back to normal, transit not so much

The Minneapolis Fed recently tweeted that auto traffic volumes have largely recovered from the pandemic, but transit numbers have not.

Transit ridership may recover a bit when office workers return to the downtown areas, but things may not recover completely, as some companies have announced they will not be bringing everyone back downtown at the same time.

There will be aspects of the economy that are permanently changed from the pandemic. We shall see if transit ridership is one of them.
