A Minnesota Effort at Teacher Union Decertification
Amidst mounting frustration with the state and national teachers’ union, a small group of teachers in Becker, Minnesota decided to try something different. They successfully petitioned the state to call a vote on union representation in their district. Although the vote ultimately failed, the experience was overwhelmingly positive and could be a model for teachers across Minnesota. This is their story.
