Ohio testimony: prioritize grid reliability
I was asked to submit written comments on Senate Concurrent Resolution 2 (SCR2) to the Ohio legislature. SCR2 requires the Ohio Assembly to consider adopting legislation to invest in the “security, reliability, and resiliency of the state and national interconnected electric grids against natural and man-made threats.” SCR2 requires the Assembly to consider adopting a microgrid pilot program, and hashing out what that idea would look like would be a great next step. Microgrids have some promise, as I describe in my testimony.
Isaac Orr, former policy fellow at American Experiment, testified on grid reliability in Ohio last year. You can watch his previous testimony here: https://www.americanexperiment.org/isaac-orr-testifies-in-ohio-on-grid-reliability/
