Operation Opt-In

$400 million per year to improve Minnesota schools!
$400 million per year could soon flow from scholarship granting organizations to Minnesota parents and students under a new education tax-credit program recently passed by Congress. Scholarships for tutoring, transportation, Internet access, computers, special education services, and even tuition could be available in 2027 to public and private school students. All it takes is for Gov. Tim Walz to say, “Yes!”
Use the form to urge Gov. Walz and the legislature to opt Minnesota in to the new education freedom tax-credit program.
Congress has given Gov. Walz the opportunity to authorize scholarship-granting organizations in Minnesota to grant scholarships to students in public schools, non-public schools, and homeschools.
This new federal program will have no impact on the state budget and could benefit students in every learning environment in Minnesota! It’s a win-win for families and taxpayers.
But Gov. Walz must opt in so families can take advantage of the program.
The Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC) was part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed by Congress this summer. Here’s how it works:
This is a no-brainer for Minnesota. The EFTC:
- Does not cost the state a penny
- Saves Minnesota taxpayers money
- Creates greater educational opportunity for students in all learning environments
- Benefits public, private, and homeschool students with supplemental learning opportunities
