Released from custody

German Adriano Llangari Inga, the illegal Ecuadorian immigrant accused of criminal vehicular homicide in a horrific drunk driving car crash last August, was released from Hennepin County jail this (Tuesday) evening at 7:15 p.m.

According to jail records, Llangari Inga was released on bond, with conditions. That means he likely contributed as little as $10,000 towards his release, with an insurance company guaranteeing another $90.000 for his future court appearances.

I’m no expert, but I remain unconvinced that the Texas-based insurance company who wrote his bond has made a good business decision.

The conditions included the usual (don’t commit more crimes, no guns, etc.) and these two special conditions:

Not included were any conditions requiring electronic monitoring or home detention. He is due back in court 9 a.m. on June 10.

At his bail hearing yesterday, the prosecutor made the most remarkable statement,

The state was concerned there was “significant risk the federal government may take” Llangari Inga if he is released from jail.

Not concerned that he would escape, flee the country, or kill another person, but that the feds might “take” him.

No, Mary Moriarty, that is not your “concern.” Your concern is that justice be served and that Llangari Inga be returned to Ecuador or somewhere else suitable.
