‘Progressive’ prosecutor ousted

In an update to our story on the insidious movement of installing progressive prosecutors around the country, one of the key figures in the movement, San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin, was ousted yesterday in a landslide recall. He will be removed from office in 10 days.

What makes the recall even more impactful is it was initiated by the former Chair of the San Francisco Democrat Party, Mary Jung.

“San Franciscans from every neighborhood and background sent a clear message today,” she said. “Voters said loud and clear that they want a district attorney who prioritizes public safety for every community.”

This was a painful lesson for San Francisco to learn. Other cities and counties would be wise to reject progressives running for public prosecutor positions.
