Tax Foundation: Minnesota’s effective sales tax rate is the 17th highest in the country

Earlier today, the Tax Foundation published its mid-year report on sales tax around the country. Minnesota, as usual, ranked high, coming at number 17 based on its effective combined state and average sales tax rate.

All of our neighbors fared better than us, with Wisconsin having one of the ten lowest rates in the country.

And keep in mind, this analysis does not include the newly passed sales tax hike in the Metro, which becomes effective on October 1 of this year.
