Tune in: The Minnesota Senate will debate the 100 percent carbon-free electricity mandate today in committee at 12:30 pm

On Monday, the Minnesota Senate committee on Energy, Utilities, Environment, and Climate heard testimony on Senate File 4, which, if enacted, will force Minnesota to obtain 100 percent of its electricity from carbon-free sources by 2040.

You can watch my testimony from Monday by clicking here.

Today, the committee will debate the legislation, offer amendments to it, and possibly pass it out of committee. Senators can also ask for additional insight from people in the audience. I will be at the hearing in case the senators on the committee are interested in learning more about how the proposal will increase costs and reduce reliability.
