Feeding Our Future: 2026 schedule
You read that correctly, we are now scheduling Feeding Our Future trials with mid-2026 start dates. The trial of the seven members of the Ikram Mohamed group of defendants (Nos. 63-69 out of 72 total, so far) is scheduled to begin Monday, April 20, 2026. That would suggest that the trials for the newest defendants (Nos. 71 and 72) would occur even later in 2026, if needed.
Of course, the schedule is fairly well packed between now and then. Today at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Minneapolis, two groups of Feeding Our Future defendants appeared for status conferences for their upcoming trials, to be held in the autumn.

First up was the appearance of the two remaining defendants in the JigJiga group. Ahmed Ali (No 37) and Khadar Adan (No. 38) are scheduled to stand trial beginning September 15. Their alleged co-conspirator, Liban Alishire (No. 36), pled guilty (No. 6) some time ago.
Parties report that there are no settlement discussions underway. On to the trial!
The next group up included the three remaining defendants from the once eight-strong S&S Catering group. In court today were Abdiwahab Mohamud (No. 25), Guhaad Said (27) and Abdullahe Jesow (28). The three are scheduled for trial beginning October 14.
Mr. Said requested the temporary return of his passport for the stated reason of obtaining a state-issued REAL ID. The judge formally denied his request but expressed an openness from the bench to an alternative involving a federal officer accompanying Said and his passport to the DMV.
From the larger group, Filsan Hassan (No. 26) is scheduled for sentencing on August 7.
The next trial scheduled is set to begin on August 18 and involves the remaining defendants of the Safari Restaurant group. One of these asked to postpone the August trial, citing the personal convenience of the defendant and his attorney. They suggested dates after November 1 would work better for them. The motion was denied.
