Life Time Fitness Bans Cable News

It’s been years since I have watched CNN anywhere except (involuntarily) at an airport gate, with one exception: I work out at a Life Time Fitness gym near my house, and I see CNN on a television screen, along with other networks. Thankfully, the sound is turned off. Nevertheless, the content is so obvious that, as I have written elsewhere, CNN might as well stop broadcasting altogether and simply put up a sign that says “We hate President Trump.”

So I was happy to read in the Star Tribune that Life Time Fitness is giving up on cable news:

Life Time has scrubbed all-news cable channels from the screens at its fitness centers, saying a growing number of customers think they don’t fit a healthy lifestyle.

The Chanhassen-based company this week dropped CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and CNBC from TVs in front of various workout machines.

[Life Time spokeswoman Natalie Bushaw] said Life Time pulled the plug on the cable news outlets based on “many member requests received over time across the country and in keeping with our overall healthy way of life philosophy and commitment to provide family-oriented environments free of consistently negative or politically charged content.”

Amen! It will be nice to lift weights without having my blood pressure elevated by the left-wing zealots of CNN.
