Mr. Glahn goes to St. Paul
Your correspondent was at the state capitol this morning, testifying in front of the House’s Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight committee on the topic of fraud in state benefit programs.
For those interested in the fireworks (such as they were), the committee posted a video clip of the verbal confrontation on its Twitter (X) page, here.
There was a strong “shoot-the-messenger” vibe among the committee’s three Democratic members. The lead Democrat on the committee is state Rep. Dave Pinto (DFL-64-B, St. Paul). A screenshot from today’s dustup:

Afterward, Rep. Pinto put out a press release, decrying the appearance of “a right-wing propaganda group” before the committee. But he doesn’t even bother to mention me by name. The money quote:
The Center of the American Experiment is a cornerstone of Minnesota’s right-wing propaganda machine.
Rep. Pinto asserts that American Experiment is “bankrolled by corporations and the ultra-wealthy.” I hate to be the one to break bad news to Rep. Pinto, but David Koch died in 2019. RIP.
The full one hour, 46 minute-hearing can be viewed here. I was the day’s only witness. Rep. Pinto, a prosecutor by profession, appears in the Torquemada role in today’s drama.
The topic of my Twitter (X) account was raised, and not by me.
I presented my ScandalTracker 2025TM spreadsheet along with some recommendations on policy changes to prevent future frauds against the state taxpayers.
Media accounts of my appearance were far kinder than Rep. Pinto. Jay Kolls of KSTP reported on the hearing as part of a 2 1/2-minute video package last night. Kolls himself has done excellent work in looking into the state’s childcare subsidy program.
My friend Scott Johnson of PowerLine also reviewed my appearance here.
Here I stand, I can do no other.
