ScandalTracker 2025 updated with new FOF #
We have updated our ScandalTracker 2025TM spreadsheet to a number above $661 million over the past five years. The update is based on a new figure for the Feeding Our Future scandal, based on the latest rounds of indictments in the sprawling federal case.

The Minnesota Star Tribune interviewed acting U.S. Attorney Joe Thompson on the case, and he provided the following update.
Former U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has called the case the nation’s largest pandemic relief fraud scheme charged. Prosecutors allege about $300 million was stolen, and that’s just the value of the fraud prosecutors have charged 72 people with so far. The actual total amount is probably closer to $500 million, Thompson said.
The full scale of the scandal ($500 million) has been apparent since at least February 2022. Unfortunately, as Thompson described to the Star Tribune, the feds simply don’t have the resources to go after everyone involved.
