About the Position

The Digital Media Production Specialist will make a difference every day working as a key member of the marketing and communications team at our mission-driven organization, where we pride ourselves on executing marketing campaigns that capture attention and change hearts and minds of our readers. The Digital Media Production Specialist will help execute an aggressive paid and organic digital media strategy that includes building owned audience, increasing daily web traffic, and implementing issue-specific marketing campaigns. A strong preference will be given to applicants with video production, editing and podcast experience.

The Digital Media Production Specialist will manage multiple priorities simultaneously and self-sufficiently with strong attention to detail and the ability to operate both independently and in collaboration with others. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience working in digital media with a strong emphasis on video shooting and editing. The Digital Media Production Specialist will report to the Marketing Communications Director. This is a full-time position located in the Center’s new office in Minnetonka, MN.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and edit short and long-form videos for use in social media and digital advertising.
  • Create and publish content on all American Experiment social media platforms (X, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), independently managing no fewer than 8 active accounts.
  • Monitor all social media accounts, actively engage with followers, and respond to comments and inquiries promptly.
  • Produce a weekly podcast, which includes finding and coordinating guests, selecting topics, managing the podcast studio and its equipment, and handling post-production editing and distribution.
  • Develop and execute marketing plan to grow podcast audience.
  • Produce video content for Facebook and Instagram ads as needed.
  • Promote engagement and produce social media content for American Experiment’s Young Leaders Council (YLC) via its Facebook group and new Instagram page.
  • Write, produce content for, and place Google ads as needed.
  • Analyze Google Analytics data and promote web traffic to AmericanExperiment.org.
  • Optimize web posts for SEO.
  • Analyze and report data in weekly staff meeting and quarterly board meeting.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience working in digital media, content creation, video production, or a related field.
  • Expertise in video production and editing is imperative.
  • Solid understanding of social media management and marketing.
  • Strong written communication skills across media channels, including writing for social media, web, and email.
  • Basic graphic design skills (e.g., comfortable with Canva).
  • Experience with paid media social media campaigns.
  • Alignment with the American Experiment’s values and mission.
  • Strongly preferred but not required: Podcast experience; solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics; photography shooting and editing skills; website management experience; bachelor’s degree or educational experience in communications, marketing, video production, or a related field.
