People v. Property

In the dystopian game of whack-a-mole playing out in south Minneapolis, the homeless encampment cleared by the city last Wednesday has reappeared two blocks to the east.

As reported by Alpha News, the homeless encampment previously found along the Midtown Greenway on 14th Avenue has reappeared on the Greenway at Bloomington Avenue.

The previous site was on city-owned land. After three nearby homes burned to the ground, the city sent in bulldozers to clear the location and erect chain-link fencing.

According to property records on file with Hennepin County, the new site appears to be a privately-owned vacant lot.

The new site, two blocks east of the former encampment, also fronts the Midtown Greenway.
